A traditionalist’s delight, Yi Jia Yuen Nonya Kueh And Cakes is pretty much a one-stop shop for your favourite festive goodies, especially for their selection of bak chang available. Savour their version of Bak Chang ($3.30), which is the sweeter Peranakan version, aka Nyonya chang. Dig into their kee chang as well that come in interesting flavours, such as Shredded Coconut With Gula Melaka ($7 for five pieces) for instance.

With outlets popping up left, right, and centre, Eastern Rice Dumpling is surely a dependable source of bak chang for most of us around. They’re also known for infusing local flavours into their dumplings too, creating favourites such as the Black Pepper Chicken Rice Dumpling ($4.20) and XO Salted Egg Rice Dumpling ($5.80).
They’ll deliver your dumplings right to your doorstep as long as you make an order of $40 or more, together with an additional flat $10 delivery fee islandwide. You’ve probably heard of, or eaten Kim Choo Kueh Chang’s dumplings before. Coming straight outta Joo Chiat, they’re a true pioneer in the local bak chang scene, with the original shop in Joo Chiat also acting as a site for a Singapore Visitor Centre branch. If you’re a fan of sweeter food, go for the Nyonya Chang ($4.50), but if you prefer the salty, there’s also a Traditional Salty Chang ($4.50) as well.

To my fellow Hokkien folk, Hoo Kee Bak Chang might just be the right eatery to bring us closer to our roots. With over 50 years of experience, their version of Hokkien bak chang has been a household name with many families especially during this special occasion. You can get a bit of everything with the Deluxe All-In ($5.50), featuring marinated lean pork, roasted chestnuts, salted egg yolk, and shiitake mushrooms all in one bak chang.
Their delivery service requires a minimum order of $50, with a flat delivery fee of $5 applying as well. Your delivery fees will be waived if you make an order of $100 or more. Some would insist that home-cooked food hits different, and Lao Ma Zi Kitchen is a living testament of that. They are indeed a home-based business, selling their made-to-order bak chang. Their Premium Savoury Salted Egg ($5.80) comes laced with roasted chestnuts, shiitake mushrooms, pork, and salted egg, ideal for those who enjoy the essentials.
Islandwide delivery can be provided for their dumplings, with a flat delivery fee of $8. Further instructions for your orders are disseminated through their Facebook page. However, they’re also open for self-collection too.

Yes, I know they clearly specialise in bak kwa. But Bee Cheng Hiang is certainly a lot more multi-talented than you think. One of our nation’s favourite Chinese New Year haunts also happens to now have their very own bak chang creations, with their Gourmet Bakkwa Rice Dumpling ($6). This includes their signature bak kwa, shiitake mushrooms, chestnuts, together with glutinous rice, and are also vacuum packed to maintain freshness. If you’re feeling a bit more atas, go for the Applewood Marbled Iberico Rice Dumpling ($16.80) instead.
