Freshly Made Chee Cheong Fun has unique CCF fillings

Old Airport Road is a haven for good food, with famous stalls such as Nam Sing Hokkien Mee, To-Ricos Kway Chap, and Xin Mei Xiang Lor Mee drawing crowds to the hawker centre. If you’re planning to visit anytime soon, especially before they close for renovations on 9 June, be sure to try out Freshly Made Chee Cheong Fun

The chee cheong fun (CCF) craze hit Singapore hard a few years ago, but Freshly Made Chee Cheong Fun has been around for almost forty years now. Similar to Pin Wei in Pek Kio Food Centre, this Eastside stall is known for serving up silky, made-to-order CCF. You get to pick from 10 different fillings as well, with prices starting at $2.50 for the basic char siew, prawns, chicken, or mushroom options.

We recommend trying out their more unique CCF offerings, though, because those are hard to find at other stalls. The Century Egg Chee Cheong Fun ($3.50) is particularly interesting, as you get diced century egg rolled into velvety rice sheets, generously dressed with a sesame-oil-and-soya-sauce mix.

For something spicy, get the Otah Chee Cheong Fun ($3.50), starring chunks of fragrant, chewy otah. This pairs super well with their delicious house-made sambal, for an added kick.

If you’re someone who orders extra liver with your bak chor mee, you’ll love the Pig Liver Chee Cheong Fun ($3.50), especially when paired with the sambal chilli.

Other notable flavours include Egg ($2.50), that tastes like a bit of a crossover with Taiwanese dan bing, and Turnip ($2.50), where your CCF is filled with chye poh.

Aside from chee cheong fun, the stall also sells porridge and other light dim sum bites, which are quite popular with patrons. Their Signature Congee, which comes with fish, seafood, pork, and century egg, is only $5, which is quite the bargain!
