Warabimochi Kamakura will open at One Holland Village

Word is in: popular Japanese chain Warabimochi Kamakura is arriving on our shores soon! The famous warabi mochi brand, which has over 50 stores in Japan, will open its first Singapore outlet at One Holland Village on 3 February 2024.

In case you’re unfamiliar with the brand, Warabimochi Kamakura started in 1991—they have more than 20 years of history to their name!

They specialise in warabi mochi, a silky-soft and delicately chewy mochi dessert that’s traditionally coated in kinako AKA soybean powder. Sometimes, the dessert is served with Japanese black sugar syrup on the side.

Currently, you can find warabi mochi in selected Don Don Donki stores and dessert shops in Singapore, including 108 Matcha Saro. However, Warabimochi Kamakura might just be the first store on our island that specialises in this Japanese dessert.

You can also look forward to a selection of warabi mochi-infused drinks at this upcoming Holland Village store. We don’t have the full list of items that’ll be available, but we do know that there’ll be signatures such as Asakawa-en Matcha (price TBD), Strawberry Yogurt (price TBD), and Coffee Milk (price TBD) on offer.

According to an 8days.sg exclusive, there’ll be an opening special from 3 to 5 February 2024, where you can enjoy 1-for-1 on their Matcha and Coffee Milk warabi mochi drinks. Each customer gets two redemptions.

We’ll update this story when we get more information. In the meantime, make sure you follow their Instagram page for the latest scoop!
