Famed Michelin-starred Korean steakhouse COTE opens in Orchard

COMO Orchard is setting up to become quite the one-stop shop for acclaimed overseas F&B brands coming to Singapore, what with Cedric Grolet opening his flagship there, and now, COTE, joining the flanks. For those who aren’t familiar with the name, COTE is a Miami and New York-based Korean steakhouse, and is the first of its kind in the world to have a Michelin star.

The refined restaurant offers an upscale Korean BBQ and steakhouse experience, paired with an extensive wine list sporting 1200-plus bottlings, as well as cocktails. This is COTE’s very first outpost outside of America as well, so you’re definitely getting a one-of-a-kind dining experience here.

The restaurant’s interiors are designed by acclaimed New York architect, Modellus Novus. The vibes here are moody and contemporary, sporting dark wood, intimate booth seats, and a separate cocktail bar where you can imbibe before your meal.

On the menu, expect premium meats paired with Korean appetisers, seafood appetisers, and sides. Meats are all top-tier cuts here, from A5 Wagyu to USDA Prime grades.

We suggest going for the value-for-money Butcher’s Feast, priced at $98++ per person. Here, you get four cuts of Australian Wagyu, as well as USDA Prime beef, paired with a medley of classic K-BBQ slides, albeit elevated.

These sides include house-made banchan, a Savoury Egg Souffle made with organic eggs, two types of Korean stews with rice, and more. The set closes with a Vanilla Soft Serve that’s glazed with a moreish soya sauce caramel.

If you prefer to splurge, they also have a 10-course Steak Omakase, priced at $295++, with a wine pairing option available. You can also enjoy Caviar Service, where you sample various types of caviar to pair with your meal.

As a perk grills here are all smokeless, so you don’t have to sweat leaving the restaurant smelling like grilled meat. Reservations can be made via their website here.
