Since arriving in Singapore, popular Japanese chain Chateraise has been on the up and up: they now have over 3o outlets across the island, as well as premium concept Yatsudoki! This time, they’re back with another exciting launch. The first Chateraise Unmanned Store is set to open soon, with a 24-hour self-checkout counter so you can get your dessert fix whenever you like.

Chateraise Unmanned Store will open at Le Quest Shopping Mall in Bukit Batok from early March 2024. It’ll be the first unmanned store in Singapore, following the successful concept launch in Japan last April.

Here’s how it works: simply enter the shop at any time of the day and choose your favourite dessert items, then make payment at the self-checkout counter. Each day, the staff will make daily visits to check on the stocks and ensure the desserts displayed are fresh.

Chateraise is known for their affordable cream puffs that come in an assortment of flavours, priced from just $1.90.

The Double Fantasy Matcha Cream Puff ($2) is a must-try for green tea fans; this palm-sized dessert is packed with fresh cream and matcha cream, wrapped in a soft and fluffy puff.

Other popular flavours include Yakiimo ($2), which swaps out the matcha filling for sweet potato-infused cream, and Original ($2), which comes with custard instead.

We’re crossing fingers that whole cakes will be available at this Bukit Batok outlet! The Special Stawberry Whole Cake ($67, 20cm) is a celebration-worthy cake starring light and fluffy sponge filled with strawberry cream and fresh strawberries. A smaller 17cm option is also available at Chateraise stores for $57.

Otherwise, there are sliced cakes on offer too, with crowd favourites such as Smooth Souffle Cheese Cake ($4.20), Tiramisu Mille Crepe ($5.10), and Gateau Chocolate ($5.50): rich chocolate sponge filled with chocolate mousse and ganache.
