Yum Cha has $2.40++ dim sum promos till 30 November

Yum Cha needs no introduction—this popular homegrown dim sum restaurant is one of the first few names to pop up in any dim sum-related conversations. This year, they’re celebrating their 24th anniversary by offering six signature items at a special price of $2.40++ each. The deal is available till 30 November 2024, so make your way down ASAP to enjoy the promotion.

Their anniversary menu presents some signature items that diners have loved throughout the past 24 years. There are six items priced at $2.40++, ranging from fried goods to steamed dumplings. FYI, each portion comes with two pieces!

A collective favourite on our visit was the Fried Yam and Scallop:creamy yam filling in a crispy puff topped with a huge scallop. We liked that the yam was finely mashed into a smooth puree, making it easy to eat without getting too jelak.

Those who can’t get enough of yam must also try the Pumpkin Yam Golden Cake, a traditional crispy pastry comprising mildly sweet taro and pumpkin.

Since we’re on the topic of fried goods, it’d be remiss of you not to try the adorable Lucky Tangerine Fried Prawn Balls.

Resembling a real tangerine, this crispy puff that’s adorned with a curry leaf is loaded with juicy fried shrimp.

Another favourite was the Scallop Roll in Filo Dough. The flaky, thread-like dough resembles a dragon’s beard, and within the roll, you’ll find a winning combination of fresh scallops, mozzarella cheese, and shredded coconut.

Moving on to steamed options, we tried the Black Garlic Shrimp Dumplings first. This consisted of fermented black garlic and sweet minced shrimp, all packed within a soft, glossy dumpling skin.

We preferred the Otak Siew Mai, a cross between otak fish cake and siew mai. We thought the combination of the two ingredients was unique!

Besides the six items on promo, there are other signature items you can look forward to. Fried Chilli Crab Bun ($3.80) is a crowd favourite for its combination of sweet-spicy chilli crab paste and crispy bun.

For something more substantial, get their Pan Fried Pork Pancake ($8.30); the texture is similar to a roti prata rather than a pancake, and it’s packed with well-marinated pork within.

Yum Cha’s promotion takes place till 30 November 2024 at both their outlets, so make your way down ASAP before the good deal comes to an end.
