Tori Sanwa opens at Takashimaya with famous oyako don
Takashimaya Shopping Centre just got a whole lot cooler with the latest addition of Tori Sanwa. The famous Japanese oyako don chain, which boasts over 120 years of history, has just set up shop at the food hall in Basement 2 of the mall!

For the uninitiated, Tori Sanwa is most known for their Oyako Don ($12.90++), AKA Japanese chicken and egg rice bowl. Each serving gets you bite-sized chicken chunks and silky eggs cooked with dashi stock and onions, then loaded onto a generous bed of fluffy Japanese rice.
If you prefer something smokier, get their Aburi Oyako Don ($14.90++) instead. Here, the meat is aburi-ed, or torched, for a charred and umami-packed flavour.
Alternatively, you won’t go wrong with the Chicken Cutlet Don ($14.90++), starring strips of breaded and deep-fried chicken cutlet complemented by creamy egg-onion layers, atop short-grain rice.
While you’re here, don’t miss out on their outlet-exclusive Asari Oyako Don (price TBD), where you get the brand’s signature oyako don, zhnged up with sweet clams cooked in a rich dashi broth.
If you’re looking for sides to share with your friends, try Tori Sanwa’s Tsukune ($5.90++), which gets you three chunks of sweet and juicy chicken meatballs.
