Run by a mother-daughter duo, Pak Mandor Nasi Lemak is a popular nasi lemak stall in Yishun that was given the “Best Nasi Lemak” award in 2023 by listeners of the local radio station, Class 95. Their nasi lemak is so popular that it sells out before the closing hour, which is at 1pm every day except Friday.

A plate of Basic Set here only costs $2.50, a silver lining in today’s economy—especially in the face of the GST hike. Plus, you get plenty of ingredients in this single dish: a bed of coconut rice accompanied by an egg, a fried chicken wing, ikan kunning, and the must-haves of sambal, peanuts, and ikan bilis.

Like many nasi lemak stalls, you have the option of adding a variety of toppings at Pak Mandor Nasi Lemak. Out of the lot, their Begedil ($1) and Fish Fillet ($1) seem to be popular choices among regulars.

If nasi is the most important element of a good nasi lemak, you’ll surely love their pandan and coconut milk-infused rice. Many have touted the rice to be extra fluffy and fragrant, especially when paired with their sweet-spicy sambal.
