Thai Baàng - Flatlay

In case you didn’t know, Thai Baang is said to be the first Thai bakery in Singapore. They opened near Lavender MRT Station in 2018, growing a steady following for their fluffy buns, baked in customised tins. While their OG Lavender store is now defunct, fans can still get their bread fix at the brand’s other outlets: SingPost Centre, Holland Drive, Changi City Point, and AMK Hub.

Thai Baang was inspired by the owner’s visit to Bangkok, where she’d stumbled upon a street stall selling traditional Thai bread. The buns are said to be softer and fluffier than the ones sold at most bakeries.
