There’s a new face in the Farrer Park hood, right next to Hey Slow Joe: Slurp Mee, touted to be Singapore’s first-ever instant noodle cafe.
This New Korean-Run Eatery Has Legit Street Food And DIY Ramyeon At Far East Plaza
Just launched a couple of weeks ago, the bright and minimalist cafe is home to over 70 types of instant noodles, from popular Korean ramyeon brands to lesser-known flavours.
Here’s how it works: simply pick from their huge array of instant noodles, neatly displayed according to price tier. A la carte noodles are priced at $3.50, $4.50, and $5.50. Else, for a full meal, grab a Classic Set ($7.90), Deluxe Set ($8.90), or Premium Set ($9.90).
Each set includes your choice of instant noodles, three toppings, and a can of soda. Additional toppings are priced from $0.80 per packet, with options including corn, fishballs, sliced mushrooms, crabstick and more!
You can also zhng up your ramyeon eating experience by topping up $0.50 for an iced Americano instead.
After paying at the counter, head to one of the cooking machines to begin the process.
For dry flavours, place your noodles and toppings into the bowl, then press “M3”, followed by “Start”. After around five minutes, your noodles should be ready!
Add the seasoning packets and a slice of cheese for added creaminess, then toss everything together.
Our Chapagetti ($4.50) was perfectly cooked till springy, with the perfect amount of sauce coating each strand of noodle.
For soup options, place the noodles, toppings, and seasonings into the bowl. Select “M1” for normal-sized noodles, or “M2” for thicker noodles, then press “Start” to begin.
The cooking time for both soup and dry options is around the same—about five minutes—so you won’t have to wait long for your ramyeon to be ready.
Slurp Mee is a convenient eight-minute walk from Farrer Park MRT Station. The cafe is bright and cosy with around 25 seats, with ample light streaming in from the floor-to-ceiling windows, so you can take your mandatory Instagram shots here.
