If you’re trying to be more conscious of your spending, here’s a piece of good news for you. Putien has just announced that they’re waiving GST and service charges for all dine-in and takeaway customers, which means prices on the menu are nett!

The new initiative, which officially rolled out on 20 August 2024, is said to be a permanent fixture.

It applies to Putien’s 19 outlets across the island, as well as Uncle Fong Hotpot Restaurant at Great World City and Suntec City. Uncle Fong is a popular Chongqing hotpot restaurant from Hong Kong that’s also under the Putien group.

For those who are unaware, Putien is a popular local restaurant chain that specialises in home-style Fujian food. They started as a humble coffeeshop stall in 2000 before expanding to over 100 branches across the world, including outlets in Indonesia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

Their OG restaurant along Kitchener Road was awarded one Michelin star for seven years since 2016, before losing the accolade this year.

If it’s your first time here, you have to order the signature Red Mushroom Seafood Lor Mee ($18.80), a comforting dish prepared with 13 ingredients, including rare red mushrooms and fresh clams. Other fan favourites include Crispy Oyster ($19.80), Sweet & Sour Pork with Lychee ($16.80), and Fried Heng Hwa Bee Hoon ($12.80).

Besides these mainstays, the restaurant also offers special dishes made with seasonal ingredients such as Duotou clams, known for their sweet and plump flesh.

Now that prices are nett here, you can feast without worrying about breaking the bank!
