Here’s a friendly PSA to all orh nee fans: PlayMade has rolled out an all-new Taro Series comprising four yam-infused bubble tea drinks!
18 Yam Desserts To Try, Including $1.50 Taro Tarts And Orh Nee Kopi
The popular Taiwanese chain, known for their unique flavoured pearls, announced the launch of their new taro drinks in a recent Instagram post. Do note that the beverages in this series are marked as Nutri-Grade C without any toppings.

Go all out and splurge on the most expensive drink in the series, the Taro Mochi Milk Tea ($7.70/$8.50). This comes with PlayMade’s signature milk tea, a dollop of their earthy yam paste, and handmade mochi chunks that are said to boast a melt-in-the-mouth texture.
The slightly sweetened orh nee layer is said to be thick and creamy with actual taro chunks.

There’s also the option to add more handmade mochi ($1.50/$1.90) or taro balls ($1.50/$1.90) for extra texture to your drink!
If you’d like to do without the mochi, consider the Taro Milk Tea ($5.20/$6.60) instead. Otherwise, there’s the Taro Fresh Milk Tea ($5.90/$7.20), which swaps out creamer for fresh milk, resulting in a richer taste and smoother mouthfeel.
Go Ba: Popular Taiwanese Fruit Tea Chain Opens At Raffles City With Drinks From $3
Those who want something that tastes cleaner can opt for the Taro Tea ($4.50/$5.80), where PlayMade’s signature Jasmine Green Tea is paired with a generous scoop of yam paste.
As with most launches, this new Taro Series will likely be here for a limited time only, so try the drinks while they’re still around!
In related bubble tea news, Hong Kong-famous Silk has landed on our shores! The new Orchard Gateway outlet offers fancy tea-centric beverages such as Yuen-Yueng Reimagined ($8.90), which spotlights Hong Kong-style milk tea, topped with cheese foam and a creme brulee cap.
