Bliss Nest Capsules has bird nest bubble tea at Vivocity

To feel like a tai tai while drinking bubble tea, head to Bliss Nest Capsules, a new kiosk at VivoCity! They have changed the average Singaporean’s drink of choice into something fanciful by adding bird’s nest as a topping.

This drink is labelled Nutri-Grade C.

One of their most popular drink is the Wolfberry Lychee Tea ($9.80). Each cup comes with 10g of bird’s nest bits, if that is not enough, you can top up $15 for a mini bottle of bird’s nest to add to your drink. Now you can get even more with every sip!

Besides the bird’s nest, you also get sweet goji berries and almond slices, adding a subtly herbal flavour to the drink. The jelly-like texture of bird’s nest was a a great contrast to the crunch of the almonds. The total bill worked up to $24.80, but I felt it was well worth it considering how nourishing the beverage tasted.

This drink is labelled Nutri-Grade C.

For something more refreshing, try the Pink Lemon Oolong Tea ($11.80). This was super light and zesty, going well with the smoky tea notes.

This drink is labelled Nutri-Grade B.

Alternatively, go for the Strawberry Matcha ($12.50), which will be available from June, so keep your eyes peeled. We liked how the bird’s nest absorbed the fragrant and earthy notes of the matcha, while the strawberry puree went well with the creamy milk.

Other than bubble tea, the shop also serves bird’s nest-based desserts. This Pistachio Avocado ($26.90) comes with bird’s nest on the side to be poured in. The nest here is of higher quality than the one used in the bubble tea, featuring an even firmer texture and more elasticity.

The avocado ripeness was just right; it was firm enough to enjoy on its own, yet sufficiently soft such that we could mix it into the light and airy pistachio mousse.

If you’re not a fan of avocado, consider the Peach Blossom Jelly Milk ($24.80) for its nourishing ingredients such as peach collagen, jujubes, and goji berries that are said to enhance your complexion. You can order this hot or cold, with either fresh or oat milk, and even choose your sweetener. We got this cold, with fresh milk and brown sugar.

After dessert and drinks, you can buy their bird’s nest to take home too. These capsules are ready-to-eat, pre-packaged desserts made with different formulas. According to their website, the bird’s nests are sourced from Kalimantan, Indonesia.

Each capsule contains one entire nest, which is freshly picked and simmered down in rock sugar by the kitchen staff every morning well before the opening hours. In fact, the lady boss also told us that the bird’s nest bubble tea toppings are prepared in small batches throughout the day ensuring that they are all fresh for each order.

Bliss Nest Capsules is tucked in the corner on the first floor of Vivocity. Since there are only three tables in front of the counter, the place has very limited seats, so it’s better to opt for takeaway!
