If you work or live in the West, there’s a hidden gem cafe at One-north MRT Station worth checking out. Located on Basement 2 of the train station, Suukee Coffee is a casual cafe selling orh nee toast and kopi, as well as hearty Hong Kong-style scrambled egg on rice!

The Orh Nee Toast ($3.50) is the latest addition to their menu. This unique snack stars freshly toasted bread slathered with a generous amount of yam paste. You can also get it as a set with kopi or teh and two soft-boiled eggs at $6.70.

If you are a die-hard orh nee fan, try their Orh-some Iced Kopi or Teh ($4.80). This creamy concoction stars the same yam paste smeared across the inside of the cup, topped with ice and your choice of Hainanese coffee or tea.

You’ll also find the classic Kaya Butter Toast ($2.90) on the menu, well-priced at $6.20 for a set. Other toast options include Omelette Spam ($4.10) and Otah Cucumber ($4.50), great for those who prefer savoury sandwiches.

Do note that these toasts are not available from 11:15am to 1:15pm, as that’s when the lunch menu runs.

If you’re here for lunch, Suukee Coffee offers hearty mains such as Char Siew Pork Collar Dry Noodles ($10.50), Flamed Chicken Chop with Dry Noodles ($8.50), and Spam Cubes Scrambled Egg Rice Bowl ($8.50). The latter is a nod to the Hong Kong-style silky scrambled eggs on rice dish, akin to the ones served at Danlao Maxwell!
