Li’l Chef has fresh pastries at Parkway Parade Cold Storage

Freshly baked scones rank top of my list for favourite snacks, so when I stumbled upon Li’l Chef, I knew I had to write about them. This under-the-radar scone shop, which started as an online business in 2016, recently opened a brick-and-mortar store at Parkway Parade CS Fresh.

The small bakery is a takeaway-only shop in Basement 1 of the mall, offering a great range of scones, pastries, and cakes. For easy access, it’s located near the entrance of the supermarket.

Li’l Chef offers 12 scone flavours: six sweet and six savoury. You can get six pieces for $9, which works out to just $1.50 per scone! If it’s your first time here, you won’t go wrong with classic flavours such as Original, Raisin, or Cranberry. Otherwise, they also have lesser-seen flavours including Maple Walnut, Orange White Chocolate, and Dark Chocolate.

The scones are said to be buttery and crumbly, best paired with clotted cream and jam. If you’re enjoying them at home, make sure you warm them up for the ultimate teatime experience!

On the savoury front, choose from six flavours: Pesto, Caramelised Onion, Herb, Cheese, Truffle, and French Shallot. Savoury scones are hard to come by in Singapore, so I’m definitely giving these a go when I’m in the area.

Besides scones, the bakery also offers a small range of pastries and breads such as Pain Au Chocolate ($4.50), Kouign Amann ($4.50 for two), and focaccia slices.
