If you live in the East and enjoy Middle Eastern food, you are probably familiar with Damascus Delights, a takeaway kiosk near Tampines MRT Station, well known for serving authentic Syrian food. Now, they are expanding by opening a new outlet at Pasir Ris MRT Station!

Damascus Delights Review: Legit Lamb Shawarma And Baklava In Tampines

Owned and operated by Damascus-born chef Abdulhadi “Hadi” Al Saadi, the eatery focuses on traditional recipes, keeping its menu straightforward and specialising exclusively in chicken and lamb shawarma.

For those unfamiliar, shawarma is where meat is stacked on a large conical structure and roasted slowly on a vertical rotisserie. At their current outlet, customers can order the shawarma in a few different formats.

The Shawarma Lamb and Rice ($13.50) is a hearty meal that comes with turmeric long-grain rice, cooked onions, pickles, and diced tomatoes. It is served with toum, a yoghurt-based garlic condiment, along with tahini and a signature spicy sauce.

The lamb is tender and has a mild gamey flavour that pairs well with the acidity of the pickles and tomatoes.

Another popular choice is the Shawarma Chicken Wrap ($8.50). This wrap includes seasoned chicken shawarma, toum, tahini, and pickles, all rolled up in a thin, toasted tortilla. It is a convenient option for a quick meal on the go.

For dessert, Damascus Delights serves Baklava ($5), a traditional Middle Eastern pastry. Their version is flaky and buttery, featuring a clear pistachio flavour without being overly sweet.

You can pair it with a cup of Adeni Tea ($2.50), a warm beverage made with milk, black tea, and a blend of spices like cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon.

While the exact opening date for the Pasir Ris outlet has yet to be announced on their Instagram page, the new location will likely offer the same reliable menu that has made their original kiosk a success.

We will update this space once more information about the opening hours and official launch date is available. In the meantime, you can visit their original outlet at Tampines Central.
