If you love taro desserts, you’ll want in on this: 9Toast is a new cafe in Dhoby Ghaut offering innovative orh nee-infused desserts including taro latte and injeolmi butter toast.

The cosy cafe is located on the ground floor of Singapore Shopping Centre, which is also home to local bakery L’eclair Patisserie.

If you’re visiting via public transport, it’s an easy five-minute walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station.

A must-try on the menu is the Purple Haze Latte ($7.90), made with taro, purple sweet potato, and milk.
9Toast’s orh nee is prepared in-store every day; fresh taro and sweet potato are steamed to create a lusciously smooth and thick paste that’s naturally sweet. No colouring, preservative, or flavouring is added, too!
You’ll also find the same signature paste in their Purple Haze Toast ($8.50), a part of the cafe’s Honey Glazed Toast range. This series is inspired by the famous honey butter toast in Arome Bakery in London, where shokupan toast is coated in a crispy, buttery crust.

At 9Toast, their Original Toast ($8.50) comprises honey-glazed shokupan filled with cream and stretchy, mochi-like milk injeolmi.
If you’re up for something savoury, go for That’s So Cheesy ($7.50), which stars the same honey-coated milk toast filled with mozzarella cheese instead.

Wash everything down with a refreshing Yuzu Green Tea ($6.50) or Passionfruit Honey Tea ($6.50). Else, for a caffeinated pick-me-up, try their range of artisanal coffee beverages such as the Black Coffee Macchiato ($6.50), made with coffee, chocolate, and sea salt cream.
