Kelim Dakdoritang has a new outlet at Tiong Bahru

Kelim Dakdoritang, a popular Korean restaurant chain with close to 60 years of history, opened their first local outlet in August last year. It seems that their signature dish, dakdoritang, has been well-received here, because they’ve just opened a second outlet in Tiong Bahru

Kelim Dakdoritang Review: Popular Korean Chain Opens In Serangoon With Spicy Braised Chicken And More

For the uninitiated, dakdoritang is a spicy chicken stew that sees chicken and potatoes braised in a mildly spicy red sauce. Kelim Dakdoritang’s rendition, however, adds rice cakes and a mountain of minced garlic to the already flavourful broth.

While a pot of dakdoritang at the previous outlet is meant for two or more people, the Tiong Bahru outlet has the Baby Dakdoritang ($15.90++), which is suitable for one. This set dish also comes with rice and a canned drink

Aside from the spicy chicken stew, the restaurant also offers a range of moreish sides. Our favourite was the Chicken Cartilage with Sweet Spicy Sauce ($19.90++), which was delicious because of the soft crunch of the cartilage, as well as its sweet and mildly piquant sauce.

The Haemul Pajeon ($24.90++), AKA seafood scallion pancake, is a popular savoury side dish that you can consider—but be warned, it can be a bit oily.

Furthermore, Kelim Dakdoritang now offers K-BBQ specialities such as the Samgyeopsal-gui ($29.90++), AKA grilled pork belly with stir-fried kimchi. You can certainly have a feast of more than just spicy chicken stew here at this new outlet.

Set in a 60-seater establishment in the historical Tiong Bahru district, you’ll be able to reach this Kelim Dakdoritang outlet after an 11-minute walk from Outram Park MRT Station
