Keong Saik Bakery to move to Bendemeer in May

This May, there will be an empty space on Keong Saik Road where its namesake bakery used to stand. Fans of Keong Saik Bakery will no longer find their favourite bakes in the heart of Chinatown, but will have to journey to Luzerne Building in Bendemeer come mid-May.

This relocation comes six years after Keong Saik Bakery first began operations on Keong Saik Road, quickly gaining fame for their unique bakes, including durian burnt cheesecake, orh nee-tiramisu cakes and more. It’s not clear what the menu will be like at the new space, but here’s what you can check out before they wind up operations here.

In the name of constantly keeping ahead of the game, Keong Saik Bakery has just launched their newest pastry series: Croissant Eclairs ($7.50) and Croissant Flans ($6.40). The former are part of a collaboration with specialty coffee shop Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee, and are only available in limited quantities each day. Get these in three flavours—Apple Compote, Lemon Pistachio, and Banana Chocolate.

Also featuring their much-loved, flaky, buttery pastry are croissant flans, in Madagascar Vanilla, Pandan, and Black Sesame that are meant to be lush and custardy within. Get up to 15% off these flans this March when you purchase them in bundles of three or six.

If you missed out on the croissant roll, AKA croll, craze, get over the FOMO here! Their take on the viral trend comes in five iterations: Milo, Kaya Lychee, Cacio e Pepe, Genmaicha, and Pistachio Praline. They come in sets of four, priced at $15.10.

For something more unique, check out Keong Saik Bakery’s range of croissant cubes. Exclusive to the Keong Saik outlet is Muah Chee Croissant Cube ($6.40), where a charcoal-black croissant cube houses black sesame paste and mochi, topped with a peanut crunch.

Apart from pastries, the bakery has a wide selection of tarts and cakes too, including Seashore 2.0 ($9.20), a super pretty slice that sees a base of Earl Grey shortbread cookie topped with Earl Grey cheesecake, then a layer of sea salt butterfly pea mousse and butterfly pea whipped ganache.

Alternatively, a new creation here is Quattro Matcha ($9.20), which is sure to delight green tea lovers. Here, you’ll find a matcha shortbread base with matcha cheesecake, matcha mousse, and matcha salted caramel whipped cream—for the ultimate matcha indulgence.
