Previously at Bendemeer Food Centre, the stall has been at its current location for the last ten years, serving up plates of Char Kway Teow for residents of the area to enjoy. The stall specialises in only this one dish and is currently run by a two-man team. As the hawker centre is pretty large, simply look out for the stall’s bright blue neon stall front. Alternatively, you can also spot it from its line of customers, letting you know good food awaits you!

The Char Kway Teow ($4) is served with your classic mix of yellow noodles and kway teow, with an array of ingredients – lup cheong, egg, fishcake, cockles, beansprouts, and pork lard. As the char kway teow here is a wetter version, the noodles have a slightly mushier texture.
Flavourwise, it leans towards the sweet side while still having a pleasant amount of savouriness to it. Tying the flavours together is the amazing kick of wok hei, which is a lot more prominent compared to other stalls. A touch of spice however would have been good to elevate the dish.

As for the ingredients, they give the noodles different layers of flavours and textures, making each bite a delightful and sinful surprise. Additionally, the cockles are really fresh and have a nice and clean-tasting flavour. One slight letdown however is the small portion of ingredients, especially the cockles. It is recommended to go for the $5 portion for a more substantial serving, or you can simply top-up a little extra for more cockles.
